New Everything

While the new year has has already found its way into February, I've finally found myself turning over a new leaf. It started off with a new diet. I say diet and use that term very lightly, because I hate the word. To me diet makes me feel like I have to starve myself, while I am only cutting out the bad things, i.e. chocolate, too much sugar and crisps, all that crap that you know you shouldn't be eating but can't help but find any old, lame excuse to gorge on at any given time. No, I'm just not eating it. However, if I find I fancy a nice bar, I know I can... However, I first ask myself, 1, how much do I REALLY need it? Am I really hungry or am I just eating it for the sake of eating it. When was the last time I ate some chocolate, because if its only a few days ago, then I know I'm just falling back into my old habits. So far, I've gone 7 weeks with any chocolate and I've been eating fruit and drinking water as an alternative and I have to say, I feel much better. I've even lost weight. The other things in my life that are new include some feng shui in my apartment. I've moved my desk into the living room and created a little corner for all my art and journalling stuff. I have sorted my clothes out, thrown a lot away that were just too small, or tatty and for some unknown reason I hung onto them. I've also created this website to showcase my art progress. It's been quite amazing going through my portfolio as I scanned each picture, it reminded me, where I began and where I'm at now and how far I've come along. I know I've got to keep practising to get better and while life has been quite hectic as of late, I am determined not to give up.
